9 Ways to Save Petrol

Next year, I guess all of you should know that our country in Malaysia will increase petrol prices. Our current 1 liter petrol is priced at RM 1.92. For every 1 liter you purchase from the petrol station, the Government will subsidy RM 1. What if Government don’t subsidy anymore?

There’s nothing we can do but just adapt to it.

Below are some of the tips that can save few extra bucks from petrol.

  1. Turn off air-cond during driving. You can wind down your windscreen when you are in highway.
  2. Step your accelerator pedal as light as feather.
  3. Check your tyre pressure frequently and make sure they are full.
  4. Use the most suitable petrol for your car engine. You can try each different brand of petrol to check it out. You have to do your own research as different car engine tends to suit different petrol brand.
  5. Don’t follow too close to the car in front of you. If you follow too close, you might need to emergency brake and accelerate quite frequently. Leave approximately 2 to 3 cars behind.
  6. Choose to own a car with manual type gearbox instead of an automatic. But nowadays, who wants to buy a manual car to stuck in the traffic jam!
  7. Don’t put too much items into your car as all of these items can add up the car weight. Therefore you need to step harder to move your car.
  8. Don’t change your tyre rim any wider than 14 inch. More than that, will consume more petrol.
  9. Service your car on time and follow your maintenance schedule closely.
