The Engine is Beating

This afternoon is really a hot day!

Despite the hot day, there are still many visitors rushing to Suzuki showroom at Bangsar. I was one of them wishing to have a test drive in this Suzuki SX4 or also called Sports Crossover.

This is an imported 1.6-litre 16-valve DOHC VVT vehicle with five-door hatchback, two-wheel drive form. When you seat inside this car, you will feel that it has a low rising waistline and large window screen. It is larger than Suzuki Swift. My girlfriend immediately told me that it does not have much privacy with that kind of windows. I don’t know but I think it depends.

About the front mirror, it has a very good viewing angle. I think every girl will like this kind of car because they can easily see the front view and adjust the car during parking. The information display is positioned just above the centre panel which does not looks like Suzuki Swift. You can have an easier visibility of current time, outside temperature and fuel consumption. Below the air-cond control panel, there is an added storage compartment. As for the steering wheel, it has built-in audio controls.

I took this car with 3 person inside to have a spin around Jalan Maarof. The ride is comfortable but not much different with the Suzuki Swift. It is silence and the suspension is soft. Due to its 1.6 cc, the power generated is more than the Suzuki Swift. When you step on the pedal, you can feel the power is better. It is using the same engine as Swift Sport M16A but is the detuned type.

Stability wise, of course this car is better than Swift because it comes with a 16 inch rim wrap in 205/60R rubber. In terms of safety features, it has a standard dual front SRS airbags, ABS with EBD, Brake Assist (BA) and side-impact door beams.

This car has more storage space than his little brother Swift. Without tumbling the rear seats forward, you will know it can provide adequate storage space for luggage in the first look.

The difference between normal and premier are the added V-kool and leather seats. The SX4 is available in five colours, these being Sunlight Copper, Ocean Light Blue, Silky Silver, Pearl White and Bluish Black Pearl.

For those out there who don’t have much confidence on the built quality of Suzuki, I am sure this SX4 can change their mind this time. This is a good car!
