Hyundai Elantra 2008 Transformed
This is nice! A very nice reshaped and completely new designed model from Hyundai. According to the salesperson, this new Elantra just launched few days ago from the date of this post. It immediately captured my attention when I browsed through a list of cars during a roadshow at Jusco Enquine Park yesterday. From its exterior to its interior, everything is changed. Thumbs up to this new machine.

I couldn’t find any similarity between this new model with its former predecessor except the front head which shares some same design concept. So, this is a completely new model and not a face lift. This new machine is powered by 2.0 cc with max power of (143 ps /6000 rpm) and max torque (19.0 kg.m / 4600 rpm). In terms of Weight-to-Power ratio calculation, it gives me a very good car performance with a value of 9.02 kg/ps.

The rear part is the one IÂ like most. It has a very nice curve and sporty looks.

It features an Electronically Controlled 4 Speed Automatic with Grade Logic and VFS electronically control Auto Transmission type. Its tilt and telescopic steering wheel also one of the features that I like. Unlike other car make which only allows you to adjust your steering wheel up and down. But this Hyundai Elantra lets you to push the steering wheel frontwards and backwards. Cool !
To add more status, it has an automatic climate control system at the center of the control panel with digitized clock and temperature. When you switch on the head lamp, the meter and control panel are illuminated with soft blue color. Very attractive.

There is only one type of model available. So you will get a standard 16 inch rim with 205 / 55 R16 tyre size. In terms of safety features, this new machine is equipped with dual SRS airbag, a body engineered with safety cell cabin, impact sensing door unlock, child safety rear door lock, brake auto lock, front height adjustable seatbelt and front seatbelt pretensioner with force limiter.

I am driving this car. There are a lot of dramatic changes comparing to the previous model. From its outlook to its performance. In my opinion, it is worth buying 2.0 lit car at price RM 93,888.
Besides, with full tank of RM 90 could drive up to 650-700 km distance in city. While I am driving at speed 110/kmh, the rpm is only at 2,400 which is considerably low. For those who really care about petrol consumption, I think this might be a good choice for them.
